Course Overview:
This course provides an important introduction to heavy vehicle diesel technology and contains the foundation knowledge required to attend further Bosch courses on specific heavy vehicle diesel systems. A proven mix of classroom sessions and workshop practical tasks are combined to give a good fundamental understanding of heavy vehicle diesel engines and the exhaust after treatment components.
Course Content: •Diesel fundamentals •Low pressure fuel system •High pressure fuel system •Induction system components •Emission control systems •Typical diesel system sensors and actuators Prerequisites: Delegates should ideally be familiar with the use of a diagnostic tester and an oscilloscope (HV56) and a basic understanding of sensors and actuators would be advised but not essential Attainment: On successful completion of HV57, delegates will be able to: •Identify components of typical electronic heavy vehicle diesel control systems and state their function •Carry out fault diagnosis and test procedures on typical electronic heavy vehicle diesel control systems. •Perform the necessary tests to effectively diagnose heavy vehicle diesel sensor system faults
