Course description
This course is designed for vehicle technicians who wish to improve their electronics knowledge.
This is a brand-new course. Trainees will learn the basics of the programming language of the Arduino microcontroller, whilst learning the operation and function of various sensors and actuators.
Understanding modern mobility and the electrification of vehicles, is a key ingredient to technician’s further success and this course is the starting point on that journey.
The course is practically based.
Course goals and objectives
Course Content:
- Electrical principles & solid-state physics
- The language of microcontrollers
- Use of software-based electronic circuit simulator
- Use of the Arduino IDE
- Ohms & Kirchhoff laws
- Writing code & programming the microcontroller
- Building and analysing modern vehicle circuit
This course is intended for trainees who have completed the following courses VSE1, VSTD9, VSB40, & VSH267.
- Use software-based simulator to test circuit functionality
- Programme Arduino sketches and debug faults
- Use of prototyping board for circuit builds
- Understand binary, the language of microprocessors
- Understand the construction and use of semiconductors
- Trainee assessment will be practical exercises
