Course description

Expand your knowledge in module cloning and airbag crash data resetting. This course designed by Autowave Limited offers essential knowledge and hands-on skills specifically relating cloning ECU’s BSI’s and TCM’s using the Obdstar DC706 and resetting (clearing) crash data from SRS airbag modules using the Obdstar P50. The devices used do not require soldering, reading and writing methods using the tools will be taught within the course.

Course goals and objectives

This course is designed to equip participants with the essential knowledge and skills required for data cloning and crash data resetting. By the end of the course, delegates will be able to:

1. Clone ECU/ECM
   Understand the cloning process of an engine control unit and which data needs to be transferred. How to identify the module using the Obdstar DC706 and successfully connect the module using the diagrams and cables provided. In some cases, mileage, immobiliser data or other data needs to be adjusted in the donor part which will be shown
2. Clone BSI/BCM
   Understand the cloning process of a body control unit and which data needs to be transferred. How to identify the module using the Obdstar DC706 and successfully connect the module using the diagrams and cables provided. In some cases, mileage, immobiliser data or other data needs to be adjusted in the donor part which will be shown. Some units will support virginising and pin code reading which can be used for non-cloning applications
3. Clone TCM
   Understand the cloning process of a transmission control unit and which data needs to be transferred. How to identify the module using the Obdstar DC706 and successfully connect the module using the diagrams and cables provided. In some cases, mileage, immobiliser data or other data needs to be adjusted in the donor part which will be shown
4. Airbag Crash Data Clearing                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      Read and write airbag data to delete the stored crash data and successfully recycle an otherwise scrap airbag module.
5. Practical Application of Tools
   Learn to use specialized cloning and crash data equipment effectively, ensuring technicians are prepared for real-world application. Tools used in the course are Obdstar DC706, Obdstar P50, Obdstar G3 and related accessories.
