Have you ever had to take a gearbox out for a second time due to a leaking CSC a clutch that doesn’t clear or DMF that rattles soon after installation? Gain a full understanding of current Schaeffler single and dry double clutch systems, including the evolution of Dual Mass Flywheels to ensure a successful installation every time. Morning: • Schaeffler company introduction. • Manufacturing trends & challenges. • Clutch - Construction & operation & forgotten functions. - Self-Adjusting Clutch (SAC), construction, operation, installation. - Clutch failure diagnosis & best practice. - Most common fitting mistakes. • Release systems. - Wear indicators. - Concentric Slave Cylinders. - Transmission hydraulic bleeding – best practice - Critical fitting advice & most common fitting related failures. • Dual Mass Flywheels - Why they are fitted, their construction & operation. - Evolution of the technology - Testing & failure diagnosis. - Discussing DMF with your “google & Forum” trained customer - Generating further work. Afternoon: • Schaeffler Dry Double Clutch Systems - How dry double clutch technology works - Development history. - VAG Dry Double clutch - Ford/Renault Dry Double clutch. - Fiat Dry Clutch Overview. Practical sessions: - Correctly mounting a Self-Adjusting Clutch. - Testing a Dual Mass Flywheel. - VAG DSG clutch replacement. - Ford/Renault Dry double clutch - Fiat Dry Clutch Installation.

- VW Wet clutch introduction & overview.
- Clutch & Mechatronics removal, theory & practice.
- Gearbox disassembly & re-assembly, common problems & repair solutions, theory & practice.
- Mechatronic repair & common issues, theory & practice.
- Clutch operation, installation & setup, theory & practice.
Course goals and objectives
On completion delegates will have an updated understanding of clutch technology and the ability to inspect associated wear components. Improve discussion with vehicle owners on job requirements, component testing and increased work on associated wear components including engine diagnostics. Good understanding of Dry Double Clutch Technology and ability to perform clutch replacements on VAG, Ford, Renault & Fiat.
