Course description

This air conditioning course is designed to help understand the correct operation and diagnosis of vehicle air conditioning systems. The course starts by describing and covering all aspects of the requirements for F GAS certification, the manual proved covers all the requirements for assessments. I the cover how and why the refrigerant is able to do its job. Each type of refrigerant circuit, to include expansion valve , fixed orifice tube, heat pump, CO2 and electric/hybrid, are described in full. Each of the components are described, with cutaway components provided for the attendees to physically handle. Diagnosis of each component is also provided. The use of all types of leak detection, to include nitrogen is also provided, along with the correct procedures in recovery, evacuation and dehydration, introduction of the correct type and amount of oil, and the introduction of UV dyes into the air conditioning system. I also cover the importance of flushing the air conditioning system after compressor failure. During the whole course, relevant tools and equipment that are required to work on vehicle air conditioning systems are covered in depth. The attendees with then be taken to the workshop, where a fully operational vehicle air conditioning system will be shown, operated and faults placed in the system for them to see and understand. Hands on experience helps them to understand how and why it works. Upon finishing the course, the attendee should leave with a better understanding of vehicle air conditioning systems, how to diagnose and repair them correctly and safely.
