Course description
The ABS braking system is responsible for so much more than just stopping the vehicle. Having a good understanding of all the ABS system features will help us assist customers and perform successful diagnostics on problem vehicles.
Course goals and objectives
Building on the level 2 course, this course explores how the ABS system operates, all the additional features performed by the ABS modules and diagnostic test procedures. By the end of this course, delegates will be able to: • Describe how the ABS module performs anti-lock braking events • Identify the operation of additional functions such as traction control and stability control • Perform diagnostic test on wheel speed sensors • Identify how to test parts of the system with the diagnostic scan tool • Describe the operation of different electric parking brake systems • Understand how different tyre pressure monitoring systems operate and how to test them.
